Our faith
We believe in the basic doctrines of Christianity as set out in the Apostles' Creed. We are therefore also in agreement with the beliefs of the German Evangelical Alliance.
We believe in the Triune God ...
The Father created the whole universe. He loves all people and wants to build a personal relationship with them (Ge. 1:1; De. 6:4; Mt. 28:19; Jn. 10:30).
The Son, Jesus Christ, is fully God (Jn. 10:33) and became fully human. Born of a virgin, he lived a completely sinless life on earth (Heb. 4:15) to take away our sins as the promised Messiah. This happened through his death on the cross (1 Co. 15:3), after which he rose bodily from the dead on the third day through the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Co. 15:4). After his resurrection, he went back to heaven to intercede for us by God's side forever (Heb. 7:25). From there he will return bodily to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:11-16).
The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer. He gives advice, help, consolation, and inspiration to live a fruitful life. With the help of his love and strength (2. Ti. 1:7), which we may ask for (Lk. 11:13; Eph. 5:18), we can influence the world for God and his kingdom.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it serves as the guide for our lives. It helps us to live a life in freedom while loving God and people.
We believe that God's love (agape), which is visible in Jesus Christ, is the foundation of Christian fellowship. We cannot produce this love apart from God but can only receive it from God, through faith. Through this love all cultural and social differences that separate us can be overcome (1. Co. 13:1. Jn. 4:16-17).
We believe that all people need salvation through Jesus Christ. Naturally, all people are separated from God by their sin (Ro. 3:23). Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ every person can receive forgiveness of their sins and restoration of their relationship with God as an undeserved gift (Ro. 3:24; Eph. 2:8-10). The only requirement is trust in Jesus and belief in him (Jn. 3:16-19).
We believe in life after death, for which the course is set during this life on this earth. The people who decide to believe in Jesus will spend eternity with God in his blessing. The people who reject the love of God in Jesus Christ will spend eternity separated from God under His judgment (Jn. 5:28-29).
